Source of Funds

The California Department of Education ("CDE") provides funds for regionalized operations and services and the direct instructional support of program specialists as defined in California Education Code 56836.23. It is a part of the overall special education funding commonly referred to as AB 602.

It is funded by CDE to SELPAs using a statewide rate multiplied by the 2019-20 SELPA Funded ADA

Funding Allocation

The Fresno County SELPA allocates a proportionate share of the Program Specialist portion within this fund to those Member LEAs that provide Program Specialist services that are recognized within the Fresno County SELPA Local Plan for Program Specialist Services. The funded ADA is used in this proportionate share calculation.

The Regionalized Services amount and the remaining Program Specialist amount within this fund are allocated to the SELPA Administrative Unit for Regionalized Services and Program Specialist purposes.
