State Mental Health Funding
Source of Funds
The California Department of Education ("CDE") provides funds for educationally related mental health services. Funding from 2020-21 and thereafter is open to mental health services to students with or without an IEP. This funding is also known as Assembly Bill (AB) 114 funding.
Effective 2023-24, CDE calculates this funding based upon each unit of average daily attendance for the current fiscal year as of the second principal apportionment. Learn more about the source of these funds here.
Funding Allocation
Effective 2023-24, the Member LEA receives the funds directly from CDE through the Principal Apportionment.
