AB 602 Proration Factor
The State's Special Education "AB 602" funding is calculated on several factors that include a base funding as well as funding per ADA. It also includes a proration factor. The proration factor is the percentage that CDE will fund the allocation. For example, if the proration factor is 0.97, CDE will fund 97% of the allocation (or 97 cents for each dollar). A proration factor less than 1.00000 will cause a deduction of funding to the district. The proration factor can change with any of the six certifications provided by CDE for the funding.
